Accomplishment: He is the Hero Group’s Chairman. B.M. Munjal (Brij Mohan Lall Munjal) is the Chairman of the Hero Group. In 2001, he received the Entrepreneur of the Year award from Ernst & Young. He is an entrepreneur of the first generation who started out in a small business but rose to prominence through sheer hard work and perseverance. Brij Mohan Lal Munjal is widely credited with the success of Hero Group, the world’s largest manufacturer of two-wheelers.

 

When B.M. Munjal was 20 years old, his journey began. Brij Mohanlall alongside his three siblings, Dayanand (32), Satyanand (27) and Om Prakash (16) moved from his origin Kamalia in Pakistan to Amritsar. The brothers began supplying the local bicycle manufacturer with components. After parcel in 1947, the family had to move to Ludhiana. The town of Ludhiana was at that point a significant center of the Indian bike business and a significant material community.
