K.P. Singh, also known as Kushal Pal Singh, was born on August 15, 1931, in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahar. Subsequent to graduating in Science from Meerut School, he went to UK to concentrate on Aeronautical Designing. K.P. Singh was selected by the British Officers Services Selection Board, UK, to the prestigious Indian Army while pursuing an engineering degree. He enrolled in the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun and received his commission into the renowned Indian Army cavalry regiment The Deccan Horse.

K.P. Singh joined American Universal Electric Company in 1960, which was a joint venture between his family and Universal Electric Company of Owosso, Michigan. From there on, K.P. Singh advanced another organization, for example Willard India Restricted in a joint effort with ESB inc of Philadelphia for assembling programmed and modern batteries in India and turned into its Overseeing Chief.

In 1979, K.P. Singh joined DLF General Restricted. K.P. Singh became the new company’s managing director when American Universal Company merged with DLF Universal Limited. K.P. Singh had the vision to purchase land in Gurgaon, which was then a desolate town on the edges of Delhi.
